This is inspired by my time in prison. The darkness, confusion and negativity. The top represents the hodge-podge of fears and emotions I experienced at the start of my sentence. As time has gone on (like sand through the hourglass), things have become clearer, brighter, and more illuminated. — Hourglass (Darkness to Light)

The Southern Auroras are very prominent at this time, and after viewing some beautiful photos online, I asked my teacher to print one for me. This painting is the nearest I could get to do the real aurora any justice. It most certainly fits in with the theme "Illuminate" as it does illuminate the whole landscape and reflects in the water. — Aurora Australis
